Qualitative Certificate student Megan Snider Bailey recently published her first article in the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning. Her article discusses a two-year qualitative study including research she completed as part of a required certificate course, BER 687: Field Experience. According to Megan, this work "demonstrates the way that space/place shapes students’ sense of geographic and cultural possibility within communities with which they are familiar." Further, it "untangles the relationship between space/place and service in order to explore the way that service-learning experiences can be more attentive to the places that produce those experiences and the power structures at work there." Congratulations on your important scholarship, Megan!
