Division D is seeking graduate students who are interested in sharing their in-progress research at the 2018 AERA Annual Conference. The Division D Graduate Student In-Progress Research Gala is an interactive poster session with an audience of interested researchers , including a panel of reviewers who will rate proposals and provide formative feedback. Professional researchers will also attend the Gala and provide feedback to the student presenters.
The top nine proposals will be asked to give a 5-minute presentation of their work during the Gala. Three winners will be chosen by a combination of proposal ratings and live assessment by the professional researchers attending the event! Winners will present during a special session during the next year’s annual meeting. We invite you to submit a proposal in the following methodological approaches: ❖ Educational Measurement, Psychometrics, and Assessment; ❖ Statistical Theory and Quantitative Methodologies; ❖ Qualitative Methodologies; or ❖ Multiple and Mixed Methodologies. SUBMISSION DETAILS The body of your proposal submission should be no longer than six single-spaced pages of 12-point font with 1” margins on all sides. This does not include references, tables, figures, or appendices. The appendices should only be used to provide supplemental information like scales or measures that are pertinent to your research; they should not be used to include substantial parts of the submission that did not fit in the body due to space limitations. Congratulations to Qualitative Certificate graduate, Megan Bailey, and Educational Research PhD student, Maureen Flint for their individual acceptances to the 2018 American Educational Research Educational (AERA) Annual Meeting. Megan will have two presentations: "Why ‘where’ matters: Exploring the role of space in service-learning" and "Disrupting colonial narratives of development work and service learning: Possibilities in pedagogical and research methods." Maureen will present a paper entitled "Becoming-post, becoming-undone: A methodological inquiry on belonging." We are very proud of the exceptional inquiry work of these two individuals.
